What's All This Then?
The Manta Banta website was a vehicle for the rantings, ravings, match reports, articles, cup previews and reviews and general banter of those odd people known as itsagoal managers.
Sadly, that site withered away and festered, untouched, until it resembled a prune left out in the sun, picked at by shrew type creatures. Not a happy end at all huh?
No, but from that end comes a new beginning; a new, bright and shiny Manta Banta Blog. So, what's different? Well, this time, we're using Blogger, a widely used web based blogging tool with some nice features. One of which is to be able to have multiple authors. So, several managers can post their own features and articles without the need for poor old Webby to intervene and do the necessary. It all sounds good on (digital) paper don't it? Well, we'll see how it goes.

OK. I've tried the other method of contact with Mods but to no avail.

The trouble with email is that Ron might not check his email until tomorrow morning.
Obviously Grezz is out on the town then.....
I can't believe the bosses haven't/won't give Grezz their mobile number, (they would probably have it on answerphone anyway, so they wouldn't be disturbed) but they would get the message straight away.

You're right about e-mail, but that's all I can do I'm afraid.
Grezz does have Ron's mobile number - that's how the last problem got resolved. And Grezz put his mobile number up on the Mod forum. Unfortunately, I didn't make a separate note of it. (I hope one of the other Mods did and has contacted him)
Don't call me a traitor but Ive just registered with FootieManager; gonna give it a trial; some things look better some worse, but until you get into something it's hard to tell. There's no FAs to help me work out which players in my squad have good potential :(
Presume you pair have tried it already; your thoughts?

Nah, I haven't trird any other football manager game. And I won't unless IAG disappears forever (Pray God it doesn't) It's not the undying loyalty thing (though there's a fair amount of that I admit), it's the no time for anything else thing.
TBH I doubt I'll barely log on again, but was just annoyed I couldn't get my 'fix' of reality football management, so I looked elsewhere.
I too wouldn't ever leave IAG (until it dies), as I'm determined to keep rising in the rankings, but had spare few minutes to look around!
Is Webby an MOD? How do you know there's good news coming?

I tried Footiemanager a year ago, done my head in big time.
The transfer market is a complete joke, you have to pay to basically sign any players as you always get outbid at the last minute unless you are up all night (I bid on 1000s of players and never got one), plus loads of bugs.
I have to say that IAG is the best I have tried so far (and i've tried a few, hat-trick, soccerproject...hatuays new(ish) venture) and they don't come close IMO.

this seems to be happening on a regular occurance, if its not one problem its another. i know to set up my team and training first thing in the morning so its not so much a problem for me but for others it could really deter them for carrying on playing iag, its time the bosses did something to sort this out, its all very well saying sorry but it doesnt help much.

This has been on the cards for at least a couple of weeks now, pages were taking longer and longer to load/refresh (for me anyway) and strange things were happening.
It could also be TG2's revenge for changing the F1 rules/steward. :)

Ok I have had some news from Ron about the current down time.
Its a problem with the ISP and is out of his hands regarding fixing it.
Ron understands they are working on it however, so we can only wait for it to come back up.

I don't know how to contact you, so I'm posting this here.
I am writing to you about the refugee situation in Calais and Lesvos. I have a particular interest in this, as my mother was a refugee from Germany during the last war at the age of 6 and her mother was a refugee from Lithuania, during the programs by Stalin. Neither ever recovered from the trauma and I know from them what a hideous experience it was.
I Iive in Marsh Baldon, and have been collecting for the refugees in Calais who are living in deplorable circumstances. I have become aware that the many refugees on Lesvos (who include large numbers of women and children) are in as bad, if not worse conditions. At present almost all the assistance they have been getting, has been down to the goodwill of a few volunteers, and winter is coming. I was wondering if you might make a collection for them after your service. I am attaching several links which might be of interest, including a Guardian article about the conditions in Calais, and the charities dealing with Lesvos and Calais. I would be so grateful.
